Felon Joseph Unger Brought into Custody

OnFocus – Joseph Unger was taken into custody earlier this evening by the Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force with the assistance of the Rome Police Department and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Members of the Central WI Narcotics Task Force and Marathon County SWAT, and Mosinee Police Department executed a search warrant in the early morning hours of Friday, October 2, 2020, at a residence in the City of Mosinee.

Located in this residence were five long guns, three hand guns, one sawed off shotgun, methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia. These items were found in a room reportedly occupied by Joseph G. Unger, a felon on Probation and Parole. The AR-15 style rifle and the 1911 handgun were both loaded and easily accessible. The other firearms were in a safe.

Unger was considered to be armed and dangerous, and was asked to turn himself in. He was taken into custody early this evening, according to a statement by local law enforcement.

Unger will be facing charges of, Felon in Possession of Firearms, Felon in Possession of a short barreled shotgun, Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia.

Unger is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
