Fatal Shooting at Fox River Mall – Police are Searching For Subject of Interest

Searching for Subject of Interest

Town of Grand Chute (OnFocus) On Sunday, January 31st, 2021, at around 3:30 pm, dispatch received calls of shots being fired inside the main mall corridor at the Fox River Mall, 4301 W. Wisconsin Ave, in the Town of Grand Chute. Two Units from the Grand Chute Police Department were first on scene. Entering through the food court enterance and then through an attached department store, initial reports indicate that the officers were searching for a black male. As officers arrived on scene and conducted a preliminary search for threats inside the Fox River Mall.

Officers located two victims who had been shot. One victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was treated and released. The second victim, identified as 19-year-old Jovanni J. Frausto, died as a result of the injuries. A thorough search of the mall was conducted to locate and safely escort those who had sheltered in place.

At this time, investigators are attempting to locate and speak with Dezman V. Ellis (06/10/2003) for his involvement in this incident. Investigators believe Dezman is riding in a blue, 2012 Dodge Avenger bearing Wisconsin license plate AHP7939.

This event is believed to have been a targeted incident and Mr. Ellis is believed to be armed and dangerous. If you see Mr. Ellis, please contact law enforcement immediately.
