Downtown Retail Store Rae Baxter’s Reopens Today

After weeks with their doors closed to the public, local small businesses are opening again for the first time, under Emergency Order #36.

Emergency Order #36, signed Monday by Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) Secretary-designee Andrea Palm, allows all standalone or strip-mall based retail stores to offer in-person shopping for up to five customers at a time while maintaining required social distancing practices.

“We’re really excited to be able to serve everyone again,” said Carol Knauf, owner of Rae Baxter’s Fashions in downtown Marshfield. “It’s been a difficult time, but we have amazing customers that have helped us through it by placing remote orders and scheduling one-on-one shopping appointments.”

While happy to have normal business hours again, Knauf will be making some changes to accommodate for health and safety.

“We want all of our customers and community to stay healthy, so we are encouraging everyone to wear masks while they shop,” she said. “We’ll also be taking appropriate safety precautions as recommended by the CDC, including regular sanitizing, limiting to five people in-store at a time, and other precautions.”

To celebrate and thank loyal customers, starting Wednesday Rae Baxter’s is hosting a “Customer Appreciation Flash Sale” with 25% off in-store through Saturday (excludes sale items).

Visit Rae Baxter’s at 345 S Central Avenue in Marshfield.
