Donors Receive Naming Rights for Marshfield Community Athletic Facilities

Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) A total of 550 donors made the Marshfield Community Athletic Facilities possible, raising $7,738,000 toward the $10.5 million project.

The top donors will receive naming rights for various aspects of the project. Gifts ranged from $1 to $2.5 million.

The future stadium next to Marshfield High School is to be named in honor of lifetime Marshfield residents Ken and Ardyce Heiting, the lead donors in the campaign.

For gifts of $100,000 to $3 million, the following items of the project will be named for donors:

Concession / Hall of Fame Building / MHS Athletic Complex Track  – Everett and Dolores Roehl

Home Side Bleacher  – Hamus Family

Press Box – Trierweiler Construction and Ready Mix

Synthetic Sport Field –  Schierel Tire

Scoreboard  – Marshfield Area Community Foundation

Additional naming rights were granted for the Armed Service and Patriotic Flag Area, various pillars, individual track lanes, bleachers, pavers, and tables. A full list of these naming rights can be found here.

Other major donors toward the project included Marshfield Tiger Booster Club, The JP Adler Family Fund, Ron & Robin Safford, The Harrington Family, Arlon & Gail Haessly, Brad & Kendra Haessly, Forward Financial, 100 Extraordinary Women, and Team Schierl Companies: Subway, The Store, and Schierl Tire & Service.

“A thanks is extended to everyone who supported this campaign, whether it was financially, verbally, talking positively about it around town,” said Brad Haessly, co-chair of the fundraising committee. “It was extremely important that we had so much support.”

A groundbreaking for the new complex took place April 10. Once completed this fall, the facility can accommodate football, soccer, lacrosse, and track and field events, plus marching band. The project also includes new baseball and softball diamonds near the high school and upgraded middle school outdoor facilities.

The district has not hosted a track event in 15 years due to the poor condition of the facilities. That will change once the project is completed.

“We no longer will get the phone calls saying our facilities are inadequate. They will be fantastic, they will be state-of-the-art, and we will be a regular host,” said Nathan Delany, Athletic Director. “We will be the preferred destination for events at the high school, middle school, and youth level, driving spectators into our community for dinner, convenience, and for night stays.”
