(Wausau) Many residents are expressing concern regarding the news of an employee of WOW Eatery testing positive for COVID. The management of WOW Family Entertainment Center is working closely with Marathon County Health Department to reduce the risk of spread of COVID. Employees who have had close contact with the case will be notified and the facility will be thoroughly cleaned before reopening.

If you visited WOW between Friday, June 12 and Sunday, June14, you do not need to be tested and should monitor yourself for symptoms. Symptoms include cough, sore throat, and headache, fever, and muscle pain. Anyone who has symptoms should call their health care provider and request COVID testing.

Any person who is COVID positive is contacted by the Marathon County Health Department. Health Department staff conduct an investigation to help control the spread of disease. A negative test assures you did not have active disease at the time of the test; it does not assure you won’t develop disease in the future. There is just going to be some risk going out into public everywhere and exposures will happen. In order to keep safe, people are encouraged to practice social distancing, avoid touching their face, wear face coverings and wash their hands.
