Columbus Catholic girls basketball wins at Greenwood

GREENWOOD – The Columbus Catholic girls basketball team opened up a double-digit lead by halftime and cruised to a 56-37 victory over Greenwood on Monday night at Greenwood High School.

Hailey Roehl scored nine of her team-high 12 points in the first half, and Dorci Walker had all seven of her points in the opening 18 minutes to help the Dons set the tone early.

Annika Brown had eight of her 10 points in the second half, which included a 4-for-4 performance from the free throw line, to keep Columbus Catholic in control.

The Dons benefitted from a strong performance at the free throw line, making 14 of 17 overall.

Columbus Catholic is now 11-7 overall and 7-6 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division. Greenwood falls to 5-12 and 3-10 in conference play.

The Dons play at Owen-Withee on Tuesday.
