Colby Thumps Abbotsford to Claim Inaugural Travelling Trophy

Abbotsford (OnFocus) – Community rivals just three minutes apart too to the field Friday evening as members of the updated Marawood Conference. Behind a relentless running attack that churned out 360 rushing yards, Colby picked up a 44-6 win to end the regular season.

Colby built leads of 14-0 after one quarter and 26-6 at the half before shutting out Abbotsford in the second half.

Brent Jeske rushed 18 times for 187 yards and three touchdowns to lead Colby.

WIAA Playoff announces Football Pairings

Joe Hawthorne added two rushing touchdowns for the Hornets.

With the win, the Hornets pick up the inaugural travelling trophy, to be awarded to the winner of the yearly Marawood matchup.

Colby outgained Abbotsford, picking up 415 yards while limiting the Falcons to 108 total yards.

Colby moves on to the Football Playoffs and hosts former Cloverbelt rival Stanley-Boyd Friday evening at 7:00 pm.
