Colby Gets Statement Win over Edgar

Colby (OnFocus) – When Colby and Edgar, wo teams ranked among the state’s best took to the field in Marawood Conference Football,  it was a defensive battle for three quarters, as Colby led 7-0. The final quarter saw a flurry of scoring, but it was Colby that outlaste Edgar to pick up a decisive 29-14 win.

Colby took a first quarter lead as Caden Healy ran for a 13 yard score, the only score until the 4th quarter flurry began.

Edgar took a 8-7 lead as quarterback Mattison Butt connected with Everett Brehm for a 13 yard touchdown, only to see Colby fight right back.

Brent Jeske scored on a pair of touchdown runs of 29 and 28 yards, along with Healy’s 45 yard run to put the game out of reach.

2021 Edgar Football Schedule

Karter Butt concluded Edgar’s scoring with a 32 yard run.

Jeske led all rushers with 163 yards on 20 carries. Mason Voss added 116 carries on 19 rushes for Colby.

Karter Butt had 154 yards on 21 carries for the Wildcats.
