(OnFocus) A bill was introduced that would make Colby cheese the official Wisconsin state cheese.

The bill, introduced by eight representatives and Senator Kathy Bernier, would include the cheese in the Wisconsin Blue Book, which also lists a variety of other state symbols, including the state song, bird, tree, and fruit.

Colby cheese was first developed in Wisconsin as a new type of cheese similar to but milder than cheddar cheese.
