A Clark County deputy was commended for his work handling a baby during an arrest this week.

In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office stated Deputy Aaron Bembnister was present at a residence while a man was being arrested for his probation warrant. While officers waited for family to pick up the man’s baby, the baby began to cry.

Without hesitation, Deputy Bembnister jumped in to calm the baby and asked if it needed a bottle. He then prepared the formula, fed and even burped the baby.

“During this time the father was in handcuffs was watching this going on. He expressed how appreciative he was for Deputy Bembnister caring for his child even given the situation, even at one point saying Deputy Bembnister was a ‘good dude.'” the department stated. “I think I have to agree with the arrested guy for once on this one – Deputy Bembnister, you definitely are a good dude and keep up the good work!”
