MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Common Council will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the city hall to discuss a litany of things.

Taxi Fares

The council will be discussing an increase in taxi fares proposed at the last common council meeting. The increase would make fares $3.00 instead of the $2.85 they are currently charging in their ride share program with Marshfield Public Transit. Steve Barg will present the item to the council and recommend that they approve the increase.

Aldermanic Redistricting

Every 10 years, when a new census is completed, cities in Wisconsin are required to redistrict. The Marshfield Common Council will be presented with a new recommendation for Aldermanic Districts in 2022 at Tuesday night’s meeting. This week, they will hear the proposed plan and will vote at the Nov. 9 meeting.

Patton has worked as a member of the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department for 21 years. After retirement, he worked as a Deputy Wood County Coroner.

Assessed Value for 2022 Budget

The Common Council will discuss whether or not to use monies given to them from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue to help reduce the budget deficit or not. The money comes after an increase in assessed value per the Final Assessed Statement from the Department of Revenue. City Administrator Steve Barg will present the topic and has recommended that the council use the money for the budget deficit.

Many more topics will be discussed. The meeting can be watched by clicking on the video link at the city’s website or heading the MFLD TV’s YouTube Channel.
