OnFocus – Christ Lutheran Church on 14th street in Marshfield will be hosting a virtual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3.

Normally, the church would spread out around 1,200 eggs for kids to find but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the church has opted to do a virtual event instead.

The hunt now involves a scavenger hunt within kids’ own homes where Director of Christian Education Tammy Schwartz creates videos that will lead kids on a hunt where they can earn prizes. The video will be posted on the Christ Lutheran Facebook Page at around 8 a.m. on Saturday morning.

At the end of the hunt, children will get a secret code in which they bring to the church office to collect their prize. The hunt will also feature an opening message, songs and Bible readings from CLC’s Puppet Ministry.

Schwartz, who helps organize the easter egg hunt, said last year’s virtual event went pretty well considering the circumstances.

“Last year it went great,” Schwartz said. “It was fun but it was very different of course from how we usually do it. We’re extremely thankful to get God’s word out to the kids one way or another. Next year we really hope and pray that we are able to have our big group of people back in the gym again.”
