Dear Residents of the Town of McMillan,

I am Debbie Derfus currently seeking a 2nd term for Town Chairman.

As I am sure, most of you have read my campaign letter. I have received numerous phone calls from residents stating my opponent has said to “take it with a grain of salt”. Please don’t, my letter has stated where your tax dollars are being spent. This is not something to be taken lightly. This current board has been very diligent and transparent on the spending of your tax dollars.

The next issue at hand is the false statement that I am going to get rid of the fire department. This is completely false!! According to “Wisconsin State Statute 60.55” the town is required to provide fire protection. Also, our equipment is required to be inspected yearly to make sure everything is running properly. Which we have done, any repairs needed are always done in a timely manner. So, you will always have fire protection with proper equipment. It is the law.

Safety is always the priority for our residents. Passable roads, ambulance service and fire protection.

Scaring people into voting a certain way is not something to be taken lightly. Nor is it ethical. I hope you want more than that from your town officials. I do!

I am always willing to answer any questions you may have. Please call me at 715-387-2078.

Thank you again for your current and previous support.

Debbie Derfus
