Burglary Attempt Thwarted By Woman in Owen

OWEN, WI (OnFocus) – On Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at about 8:28 a.m., the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call from a female who resides in the 700 block of E. 4th St. Owen, Wi 54460 reporting a home invasion that occurred in the early morning hours of Oct. 14.

A detective’s interview with the victim revealed that an individual described as approximately 5’5” tall with a thin build entered her residence at approximately 1:30 a.m.

The victim reported that she could hear the suspect in her bedroom while she was in bed, going through dresser drawers. A struggle ensued and the suspect attempted to suffocate the victim with a pillow. The victim’s daughter heard the struggle and came into the victim’s bedroom. At that point the suspect fled the residence.

This investigation is active and ongoing at this time. No further descriptors are available, and updates will be made available as they come.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect or reporting any unusual activity in the Owen area. In addition the department is asking for anyone to contact the Clark County Sheriff’s Office if you have any type of cameras on your property or ring doorbells in the surrounding blocks of the 700 block of East 4th  St. Owen, WI.
