Minnesota – Five months after he was thrown nearly 40 feet from a 3rd-floor balcony at the Mall of America, 5-year-old Landen has returned home.

In a GoFundMe update, Landen’s family said he has completed treatment. Landen will still receive outpatient rehabilitation for his injuries. In August, the family also reported that he had been moved from intensive care into rehabilitation.

Emmanuel Aranda, a stranger who threw Landen, pleaded guilty to attempted premeditated first-degree murder. He said he went to the mall “looking for someone to kill” after his advances had been rejected by women.

On Friday, Aranda filed notice to appeal his case to the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
