MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Former Marshfield School Resource Officer Matt Berres will be taking over a vacant detective position with the Marshfield Police Department.

Berres has been with the department since 2007. The promotion comes after Marshfield Police Detective Christine Zupanc resigned from the department on September 13.

In Zupanc’s resignation letter to acting Police Chief Pat Zeps, she indicated that September 28th would be her final day with the department.

Zupanc’s resignation letter stated that she wished for her 100 hours of accrued vacation to get paid out in a lump-sum payment.

Reasons for Zupanc’s resignation are unknown at this time.
