Balanced Scoring Attack Propels Athens into Regional Final

Athens (OnFocus) – Athens took a 14 point halftime lead and held off Newman Catholic in the second half for a 73-53 regional semifinal win.

The Blue Jays had a balanced scoring attack that saw four players score in double figures. Addison Lavicka had 17 points, Kaitlyn Riehle scored 16, and Jazelle Hartwig had 15 points. Elizabeth Van Rixel chipped in with 11 points.

Hartwig had a double-double, collecting 12 rebounds and also picking up 5 steals.
