Badgers land 5 star recruit Nolan Rucci, beating out Clemson and Notre Dame

Madison (OnFocus) – The Wisconsin Badgers pulled in a huge prize on Wednesday, landing  an oral commitment from 5-star offensive tackle Nolan Rucci.  The Badgers were one of five schools Rucci had narrowed as his choices, including  Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State. 

Rucci, whose father Todd played for the New England Patriots, is a major signing for Wisconsin, ranked the 33rd best recruit in the country according to ESPN. Rucci becomes the 17th player in the Badgers’ 2021 recruiting class.

“I love how coach Rudy (UW offensive line coach Joe Rudolph) coaches his guys. The development is obvious,” Rucci told CBS Sports HQ. “You see the guys that they’re putting in the NFL in recent years and the guys that they’re going to be putting in the NFL. So, I’m excited to be part of that process and make my mark.

“Can’t wait to be a Badger. Let’s go ‘dubs.'” 

Rucci, who is 6 foot 8 and 295 pounds, joins older brother Hayden, a tight end, on the Badgers.
