Softball and Volleyball Tournament to be Held

Auburndale Music Fest, scheduled for June 26-28, has been canceled due to COVID-19.

“This was a very hard decision for our organization,” stated the Auburndale Park Association in a Facebook update. “In the last month we have taken everything into consideration with having our annual event. Per the CDC guidelines provided by Wood County, and the limit of 250 people or less, we are very disappointed, but we have decided to cancel the event.”

Organizers determined there were too many challenges to overcome to keep everyone involved in the event safe.

“We see no clear path to ensure that all the health and safety expectations that our organization demands for all could be met. Our top priority is the safety of everyone,” the association said.

There will be a softball and volleyball tournament for that weekend, but no bands and other entertainment.

“We promise that next years event on June 25 – 27, will be bigger that ever. Auburndale will be celebrating their 150th anniversary. Our organization does not take this matter lightly,” the association said. “With the ripple effects of COVID-19, we want to express our sincere apologies to all our attendees, vendors, teams, workers, and especially our entertainers that have put on some awesome shows throughout the years. We will move forward and promise you a spectacular event in 2021.”
