Auburndale boys basketball needs overtime to beat Rib Lake

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale boys basketball needed overtime, but it survived, beating Rib Lake 54-51 on Friday night at Auburndale High School in a Marawood Conference crossover contest.

The Apaches led 27-24 at halftime, but Rib Lake was able to force overtime before Auburndale outscored the Redmen 6-3 in the extra four-minute period.

Auburndale is now 14-2 overall and 10-1 in the Marawood South. Rib Lake falls to 10-6 and 6-6 in the Marawood North.

Colton Wright and Cooper Weinfurter each scored 14 points, and Hunter Wright had 10 points for the Apaches.

Auburndale hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Monday.
