Abbotsford(OnFocus) – The Abbotsford Falcons and Athens Blue Jays tangled in Marawood Conference action, and for one half, were evenly matched. Tied at the half at 26, Athens pulled away after the break, however, to secure a 53-40 win.
The first half saw 20 ties and lead changes, but a 13-2 spurt in the opening six minutes of the second half gave Athens a comfortable lead, and the Blue Jays weren’t threatened the rest of the way.
Athens was 8 of 23 from the free throw line, with Abbotsford connecting on 11 of 18 from the line.
