The Athens Bluejays downed the Bruce Red Raiders 26-16.

Athens would open the scoring on a 16-yard touchdown run by Evin Passehl; the two-point conversion was good. Bruce would respond with a 70-yard touchdown run by Blake Nyhagen; Nyhagen would also catch the two-point conversion to tie the game at 8.

Passehl would give the Bluejays back the lead on a 15-yard touchdown run; the 2-point conversion was no good, giving Athens a 14-8 halftime lead.

Passehl would find the endzone again late in the 3rd on a 16-yard run; the two-point conversion was no good, giving Athens a 20-8 lead. Bruce would respond with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Nyhagen to Brockton Poppe; Tyler Stevens would connect with Caleb Johnson for the two-point conversion, making it 20-16.

Passehl would find the endzone for a 4th time right at the end of the game, this time on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Kamden Zarnke. The two-point conversion was no good, giving Athens the 26-16 win.

Athens was led by Evin Passehl, who ran the ball 30 times for 155 yards and 3 touchdowns, also caught a pass for 18 yards and a touchdown. Bruce was led by Blake Nyhagen, who went 3/11 passing for 67 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He also ran the ball 10 times for 91 yards and a touchdown.

Athens moves to 3-1 on the season, and next heads north to take on Hurley, Bruce drops to 0-4, and next takes on Washburn on the road.
