The Assumption Royal  shut down Regis Friday, picking up a 7-0 shutout win.

“This was an impressive win over a quality conference team,” said Royals’ Head Coach Jim Wendels. “We talked at the half about simplifying our game, keeping it simple, hitting the open passes, not over handling the ball, early crosses and putting numbers up around the ball. Our girls responded well and we cracked the game open in the second half.”

Addie Vollert, Kendall Duellman and Clara Kubis had two goals apiece for the Royals. Izzy Jungwirth also scored for Assumption.

“We put Clara and Izzy up top to give them some new looks and we had great success with that. Morgan Reichl made some prime time saves tonight,” Wendels added.

The Royals outshot Regis 28-12, with Reichl collecting 12 saves.
