(OnFocus) Aspirus has implemented drive-thru testing for those patients that are referred to a testing site in its service area after calling its COVID-19 hotline.

The drive-through testing is designed to protect the community and provide those individuals who make an appointment with a quick and safe way to be tested for coronavirus. This method is only available to those patients who have called the hotline number first and are referred to a drive-thru testing site for an appointment.

Aspirus sends the tests to an outside testing facility, where it may take 7 days to get a result, a spokesperson stated. Tests are only administered if a patient meets the medical criteria, and while test results are pending the patient must be isolated from others.

The Aspirus hotline number for those concerned they have have COVID-19 is 1-844-568-0701. Call center hours are from 7-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Contact a primary care provider or the hotline number before visiting Aspirus to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Signs and symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough, and shortness of breath, which may appear as long as 14 days after contact with someone with COVID-19. Some may experience little to no symptoms, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
