Amherst Football Comes Back in Final Two Minutes, Defeats W-B on Final Play

A back and forth affair saw CWC Large rivals Amherst and Wittenberg-Birnamwood battle to the end. Trailing 28-21 with two minutes to go, the Falcons fought back and claimed a 31-28 win as Sam Wangelin connected on  a 24 yard field goal at time expired to give Amherst the win.

The Falcons trailed 14-0 early in the second quarter before coming back to knot the game at 14 heading to halftime. W-B then took a 28-21 lead in the final minute of the third quarter and the lead remained until late in the game.

Glodowski connected with Aidan Jastrowsmski on a 11 yard score with 1:59 left and the game was tied at 28.

Wangelin then game the Falcons the win with his field goal with no time remaining for the win.

Mathew Glodowski rushed for 121 yards on 21 carries and scored on touchdown runs of 15 and three yards. Glodowski also completed 10 of 12 passes for 120 yards and connected with Jake Derezinski(13 yards) and Aidan Jastrowmski(11 yards) on touchdown throws.
