AUBURNDALE, WI (OnFocus) – The “All Clear” has been given to Auburndale Schools to resume regularly scheduled classes after a bomb threat was found to be not credible Thursday morning.
Initial information indicated that a message was left on the bathroom stall that read, “I have a bomb.”
Administration worked with law enforcement to assess the severity of the threat and mitigate the situation. The individual that wrote the message was identified and the threat was deemed not credible.
“When the Administration and Law enforcement are sure that it is safe for students and staff to return to the building we will do so,” they stated. “We will continue to keep you informed of the situation.”
On-scene reports indicate that students are being allowed to re-enter the facilities at this time. The district has confirmed and the school day will continue as normal. More information will go out to families when it is available.
District Administrator James Delikowski said the school worked well with law enforcement to help debunk the threat.
“Wood County Law Enforcement and the school district administration worked very quickly to assess the seriousness [of the threat],” Delikowski said. “The threat was serious enough that we did have to evacuate the building but through the good work of the Wood County Sheriff’s Department and my administration, we were able to find that the threat was not credible.”
According to police, the situation is still under investigation and the name of the student who wrote the message will not be released due to the age of the individual.
