Marshfield Police Perform Successful Pit Maneuver on Non-Compliant Driver

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Police Department initiated a traffic stop near the corner of McMillan Street and Central Ave around 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday when the driver became non-compliant.

Police had guns drawn on the vehicle as they tried to communicate with the driver. The driver reportedly yelled out the window of the vehicle and proceeded to stay in the vehicle.

When police tried to further communication with the driver, he drove away and police initiated a short pursuit of the driver.

The pursuit ended at the corner of County Road E and Peach Ave. by way of a pit maneuver.

The suspect’s vehicle was disabled during the maneuver, police broke the passenger-side window and extracted the man, placing him under arrest in the process.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department and Marathon County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.
