MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The eighth annual Marshfield Parish Truck & Tractor Pull will be making its way to the Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Marshfield July 9.

Last year, the Parish Pull was cancelled in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and event coordinator Dan McGiveron said it’ll be nice to see everyone and pull the community together again.

“It’s a pretty big deal for us,” McGiveron said. “I think a lot of people are kind of over the pandemic. So for us it’s just trying to bring the community together and get on with things. Everyone talks about the new normal. I don’t think it’ll be like old times but maybe for like 4-5 hours on Friday night, it will.”

The gates and concession stands will be open at 5 p.m. with the pulls set to start at 7 p.m. Admission for the event is $10 for ages 16+, $5 for ages 5-15 and ages four and under can attend the event for free.

Thirteen different styles of trucks and tractors will be pulling the event.

The pull was instituted as the “Parish Pull” when members of St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield came up with the idea to not only get their name out but to try to bring the community together.

The pull’s slogan, “Pulling Our Community Together,” is evident in the pull’s commitment to giving to charity. McGiveron said over the time the group has been doing the event, they have given $150,000 back to the community.

McGiveron also said sponsors are a large part of the reason that the pull has been so successful.

“I always say when you have good sponsors you kind of do things the right way,” McGiveron said. “We have a good menu, we take care of our pullers, and we take a lot of pride in trying to prepare our track.”

A full list of sponsors is available on the pull’s Facebook Page.
