5 Local Wrestlers Still Alive in Division 1 State Individual Wrestling Tournament

At 106, Wisconsin Rapid’s Preston Spray is still alive in the consolation bracket, Spray lost his semifinal match to Greyson Clark of Kaukauna by decision 8-4, he will face Joey Showalter of Elkhorn Area/Faith Christian on Saturday.

At 113, Justin Groshek of Stevens Point is into the championship match after advancing by major decision 10-1 over Michael Smith of Appleton North. Groshek will face Alec Hunter of Oshkosh West on Saturday.

At 120, Keagan Cliver of Marshfield lost his semifinal match by fall to Mason Campshure of Kaukauna, he will face Kale Roth of Stevens Point who advanced in the consolation bracket downing Aaron Johnson of Nicolet by fall, then won by decision over Trent Francois of West De Pere 2-0.

At 126, Holt Blaskowski of Marshfield is out of the tournament, Blaskowski won his first consolation bracket match by major decision 12-4 over Jonah Luther of Arrowhead before falling to Bryce Jankowski of Cedarberg by fall.

At 132, Brett Franklin of Marshfield is still alive in the consolation bracket, he won his first match by Decision 5-4 over Logan Stumpf of Kaukauna, then won his second match over Austin Elger of Muskego by fall. Franklin will face Jake Stritesky of Badger tomorrow morning.

At 152, Wyler Lubeck of Wisconsin Rapids is out of the competition, Lubeck won his first consolation bracket match against Cater Vetsch of Holmen by decision 8-1 before losing to Cody Welker of Burlington by decision 2-1.

At 195, Andrew Schultz of Wisconsin Rapids is out of the competition, Schultz lost his consolation round match to Amir Blevins of West Allis Central by major decision 14-2.

Consolation round matches start at 10:00 AM with championship matches starting at 5:30 PM
