OnFocus – Marshfield Fire and Rescue responded to a fire on Sunday at Parkwood Apartments in Marshfield. The fire call came in at 12:09pm on Sunday, October 18 and was contained to the apartment of origin. One individual was transferred to Marshfield Medical Center for smoke inhalation.
According to a statement from the department, the fire originated in the southeast bedroom. The cause remains under investigation, and appears to be accidental at this time.
Other adjacent apartments received smoke and water damage, and fire damage extended into the attic. Multiple apartments were evacuated for the night to ensure occupants’ safety. The Red Cross assisted those in need of placement.
