14-year-old Wisconsin Girl Rescued in Alabama Human Trafficking Raid

HOMEWOOD, ALABAMA (OnFocus) – A Birmingham Alabama man was arrested and a 14-year-old Wisconsin girl was rescued after an investigation into a human trafficking situation in Alabama.

In the town of Homewood, Alabama, police announced they had arrested 35-year-old Jeremy Alexander. According to a release, detectives obtained warrants through the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for Human Trafficking 1st Degree, Kidnapping 1st Degree, and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm. Alexander is being held on multiple bonds totaling $1.6 million.

The Homewood Police Special Investigation Unit, assisted by the FBI Child Endangerment and Human Trafficking Task Force conducted the operation on July 16.

Alexander and the girl, whose name is not being released, were found at the America’s Best Motel. The victim has been referred to a local victim advocacy agency for assistance.
