MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – A winter storm is expected to hit central Wisconsin beginning Friday around noon.

The storm is slated to bring 8-10 inches of accumulation with winds of up to 25-30 mph according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will hover around freezing during the day on Friday but will drop to 24 degrees Friday night. This might create slippery conditions for roadways.

The storm will bring a majority of the snow on Friday evening into Saturday morning. People should use caution when traveling and if possible, stay home.

Also, help snow plows by shoveling or plowing snow into your yard as opposed to the street. Parking will not be allowed if the City deems the storm to be a snow emergency.

The National Weather Service recommends preparing a winter storm kit including items such as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
