In a resolution at the Tuesday, July 17 meeting of the Wood County Board of Supervisors, Trent Miner was unanimously appointed County Clerk, replacing the unexpired term of Wood County Clerk Cynthia Cepress, who retired July 2 after sixteen years. His term will end January 4, 2021.
The motion passed 17-0 with Supervisors Fischer and Pliml absent.
As County Clerk, Miner will oversee activities of the County Board and county elections. The County Clerk also issues marriage licenses, temporary and metal car license plates, permits for timber cutting, distributes state dog licenses, and accepts passport applications.
