Playoff action picks up again on Thursday, October 26th with soccer and volleyball teams looking to advance their way to state finals.

Columbus Catholic Dons soccer kicks things off on Thursday with a match against Arcadia. The match is being held at Griese Park in Marshfield and scheduled at 4pm. The Dons beat Arcadia in their only match-up on September 23rd, 4-2. That match was part of a tournament and played at PCYS Field in Stevens Point, WI. Goal scoring sensation Nadim Torbey contributed one goal in that match. The Dons offense goes as Torbey goes and with goaltender Kellen Heinzen out with an injured hand, the Dons will again look to Torbey to move past Arcadia.

In volleyball, the #1 seed Stratford Tigers have a neutral site match against the #3 seed Athens Blue Jays in Auburndale Thursday at 7pm. The Blue Jays moved past the #2 seed Pacelli Cardinals in 5 games last Saturday. Earlier that day, the Tigers outpaced the #4 seed Abbotsford Falcons, 25-16, 25-15, 25-23 to take the regional title. The winner of this match will take the winner Oconto/Saint Mary Catholic on October 28th, 7pm in Athens.

The Columbus Catholic Dons volleyball team travels to Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids to meet the Wausau Newman Cardinals in this #2/#1 seed battle. Early in the season, Columbus faced off against Stratford twice, losing both matches. While the Dons have yet to play Newman, the Stratford Tigers have, losing 3-1 at Newman. The winner of the Dons/Cardinals match will go on to play the winner of Florence/Gresham Community on October 28th, 7pm in Bowler.
