Stratford girls basketball blows past Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD – Macie Schillinger scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds, and Tanaya Schillinger hit a pair of 3-pointers and had 15 points to help the Stratford girls basketball team to a 51-29 win over Abbotsford in a Marawood Conference crossover game on Friday night at Abbotsford High School.

The two Schillingers combined to go 11 of 17 from the field and made eight of the team’s 17 free throws in the victory.

Kamryn Schueller chipped in seven points for the Tigers, going 5-for-6 from the free throw line.

Stratford is now 11-4 overall and 10-1 in the Marawood Conference South Division, while Abbotsford falls to 9-5 overall and 6-5 in the Marawood North.

Stratford plays a nonconference game at Nekoosa on Tuesday before its much-anticipated showdown at Wausau Newman Catholic next Friday, Jan. 25. Newman and Stratford are tied atop the Marawood South standings.

Kallie Falteisek was the only Falcon in double figures, scoring 11 points.
