Stratford boys basketball slams Phillips to stay unbeaten

STRATFORD – The Stratford boys basketball team remains undefeated after ripping Phillips 69-41 in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Stratford High School.

The game pitted the two leaders of the Marawood North and South divisions.

Stratford is now 16-0 overall and 12-0 in the Marawood South, while Phillips falls to 12-4 and 8-4 in the Marawood North.

Ben Barten was unstoppable down low for the Tigers, making 14 of 18 shots to finish with a game-high 28 points. Vaughn Breit added 11 rebounds, and Teddy Redman made a pair of 3-pointers and score 10 points for Stratford.

Stratford plays a nonconference game at Spencer on Monday.
