Stratford baseball shuts out Newman Catholic

STRATFORD – Lance Heidmann tossed five innings of shutout ball and Eli Drexler drove in four runs as the Stratford baseball team whipped Wausau Newman Catholic 14-0 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.

Stratford scored eight times in the first inning and added four more in the second to take a commanding lead.

Heidmann struck out five, walked one, and allowed just three hits to earn the complete-game win as the game ended via the 10-run rule.

Drexler went 2-for-2 with four RBIs, Colten Schillinger was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Riley Bauman was also 3-for-3, and Dylan Schoenherr added a pair of RBIs for Stratford.

Stratford (5-1, 3-0 Marawood South) will play at Newman Catholic on Thursday.
