Stratford baseball edges Rhinelander in regular-season finale

RHINELANDER – The Stratford baseball team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with a 6-5 win over Rhinelander in a nonconference game Monday.

The Tigers scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to forge ahead after falling behind 5-4.

Riley Bauman earned the win with two innings of scoreless relief for Stratford, which finishes the regular season with a 14-2 record.

Colten Schillinger, Dawson Moen and Lance Heidmann each had two hits for Stratford, and Bauman added an RBI double.

Stratford will host Nekoosa in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.
