Spencer baseball blanks Granton

SPENCER – Kyler Bainer stuck out 11 in five innings of work to earn the win and help the Spencer baseball team to an 8-0 win over Granton in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday at Spencer High School.

Bainer and Austin Bacon combined on a three-hit shutout for the Rockets, who are now 3-0 overall and in the Cloverbelt East.

Bacon had two of the Rockets’ six hits and scored twice, Chase Higgins knocked in three runs, and Tanner Kleinschmidt had two RBIs for Spencer.

Spencer plays at Gilman on Friday.
