Obituary for Audrey Elvira Juedes

Audrey Elvira Juedes, age 92 of Colby, passed away peacefully surrounded with love and support from her family on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Marshfield Medical Center.

Her memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby with Rev. Mark Neumann officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Town of Holton Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday at the church from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM for visitation. Lunch will follow the memorial service.

The honor of being her pallbearer belongs to: Jason Haas, Nicholas Denzine, Erik Denzine and Chris Olszewski.
Audrey Elvira Juedes was born July 30, 1926 in Stetsonville, WI, the daughter of John and Geraldine (Mitzlaff) Gebert. She was united in marriage to Donald Juedes on October 23, 1946 in Zion Lutheran Church in Stetsonville. Sadly, Donald passed away in June of 1992. They operated a dairy farm outside of Dorchester for 28 years. After farming they moved into Abbotsford. Audrey worked at the Colby high school as a cook for 21 years providing delicious meals for countless numbers of students.

 She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.

Volunteering and helping others was part of who she was. This included chairing church dinners, visiting people through Interfaith Caregivers and volunteering at the Wausau Bethesda Thrift Shop.

 Her hobbies included sitting down to read a good book, playing many games of cards like Sheepshead, smear and pinochle or creating beautiful embroidery pieces and sewing projects with her gifted and talented hands.

She blessed family and friends with her baked goods and cooking.

Survivors include her four daughters: Dorothy (Daniel) Schmidt of Mosinee, Linda (James) Haas of Middleton, Sandra (Bradley) Denzine of Silver Lake and Kathryn (Daniel) Olszewski of Middleton; her grandchildren: Jason (Chantal) Haas of Albuquerque, Nicholas Denzine of Horican, Erik (Jessica) Denzine of Houston, Chris Olszewski of Madison and Athena Olszewski of Baltimore; her great grandchildren: Alethea, Elonah, Kalea and Shylah Haas; her two sisters: Shirley Rau of Franklin and Donna Diedrich of Pepin along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, her grandson Jesse, and two sisters: Marietta Steevens and Eunice Mader.

The family is accepting memorials in Audrey’s name for a charity to be chosen later.
