Obituary for Gerald H. Miller

Gerald H. Miller, age 72, of Spencer, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 with family by his side at House of the Dove in Marshfield.

His memorial service will be held at 5 PM on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield with Rev. Daryn Bahn officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday at the church from 3 PM until time of services. Following the service, military honors for Gerald will be presented by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. A private committal service will be held at a later date.

Gerald was born January 7, 1946 in Marshfield, the son of John and Lena Miller. After graduating, he was drafted into the army and served in Vietnam where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He was united in marriage to Corrine Miller on January 27, 1970 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Sadly, Corrine passed away on November 13, 2018.

He worked at a number of small jobs after his military service before taking employment at Great Plains Gas in Marshfield. He later worked for Wisconsin Gas (later acquired by WE-Energies) in both Rice Lake and Marshfield. He worked at WE-Energies until his retirement.

Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATV’n, and spending time outdoors. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his children: Jennifer (special friend Chris Corbett) Miller of Star, NC, Eric (Carol) Miller of Kaukauna and Jeff Miller of Spencer; his grandchildren: Zachary, Alex and Isaac; and his sister Cheryl (Tim) Hughes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Corrine, his sister Louise, and his brothers Richard (Dick) and John (Bucky).

If desired, the family is accepting memorials in Gerald’s name to either The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association.
