Carol J. Jones, 65, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully after a long and very courageous battle with cancer on January 10, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield, where family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau at a later date.

Carol was born on August 6, 1953, in Marshfield to Robert and Regina (Terzinski) Anderson. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1971. Carol met her future husband in Marshfield in 1974 and they were united in marriage on July 23, 1977, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. In 1979, they started their family with the birth of their daughter, Jolette and in 1981, their son Nathan. Over the years, Carol worked as a crossing guard and then as a grocery clerk at Karau’s Warehouse until 2000 when she retired due to medical reasons.

She was well known and loved throughout the community.

She had a love for life and wore her heart on her sleeve. She always had a smile on her face and warm hello for anyone she encountered. Carol enjoyed playing bingo with her Mom and her family. She enjoyed doing both regular puzzles, as well as crossword puzzles. She enjoyed the Wheel of Fortune and her afternoon soap operas. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and you could always catch her yelling at the football game when it was on TV, especially when they played the Packers.

She enjoyed watching Westerns on TV with her husband, as well as fishing at Moon Dam with him and family picnics at Mission Lake. She enjoyed gardening and had quite the green thumb. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren more than life itself.

Carol is survived by her children Jolette Jones (Greg Weber) of Highbridge, WI, and Nathan Jones (Jessica Blahnik) of Kronenwetter, WI, and three grandchildren she adored and loved with every being in her, Kaitlin, Alessa, and Bryce. She is further survived by her mother, Regina Anderson of Marshfield, WI, three brothers Jim (Jane) Anderson of Marshfield, WI; John Anderson of Reno, NV and Dennis Anderson of Killeen, TX and one sister Mary Bean of West Plains, MO, and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Edward Jones, her father Robert Anderson and one brother Dale Anderson, all of Marshfield, WI.

We would like to thank Stacy Brogan, who continued to help Carol live independently after her husband passed away and Dr. Leon along with the Oncology Unit at Marshfield Medical Center, who continued to help Carol fight her battle and have more time with her loved ones. Another thank you goes to the staff at the Atrium Post Acute Care Center and Heartland Hospice for the compassion and care they provided for her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made by donation In Memory of Carol Jones to: Heartland Hospice, Attn: Kaylie Bailey, 3233 Business Park Drive, Building A, Suite 203, Stevens Point, WI 54482.
