Marshfield Scores 25 Unanswered in 2nd Half, Becomes Playoff Eligible

After being shut out in the first half, the Marshfield Tigers would score 25 unanswered to lock up playoff eligablity and a chance to clinch thier third straight VFA West Title next week against DC Everest.

Wausau West would get the only score of the first half on a touchdown run by quarterback Garrett Richardt to take a 7-0 halftime lead.

Marshfied would open thier scoring on defense early in the second half, when they got a safety, cutting the West lead to 7-2. Marshfield would then get two rushing touchdowns in the last 3:00 of the third quarter, first on a 1 yard run by Sam Hinson, then on a 28 yard run by Will Nikolai.

With 7:01 left in the 4th Marshfield would tack on another touchdown on a 3 yard pass from Joey Goettl to Simon Slade, and for good measure with 1:36 left in the game Kyle Tremelling would hit a 32 yard field goal.
