Update 12:31 p.m. CST: Users report that Facebook is back up. Reports of an outage appeared concentrated in Northeastern United States with more scattered reports across the country and in South America and Europe on Down Detector.
Facebook appears to have crashed for users around the globe late Monday morning.
User attempts to access Facebook.com return the error message: “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and will get it fixed as soon as we can.”
#FacebookDown is already a trending topic on Twitter, with some users expressing that a permanent outage would be beneficial for humanity.
It’s unknown at this time what caused the crash or when Facebook will return.
