Reduced Admission, Carnival Arrives Late

On July 17th at the Wood County Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Ashbeck informed the board that at the previous Fair Board Meeting it was discussed that the carnival won’t be able to make at minimum the opening date of the Central Wisconsin State Fair. The gate admission will be half price for those two days.

The Central Wisconsin State Fair moved the fair dates from its traditional Labor Day Weekend after concluding that moving the dates would provide for better scheduling of acts. The fair is scheduled this year for August 21st through the 26th.

OnFocus has been reaching out to the Executive Director of the Central Wisconsin State Fair for more details. No response at the time of publication.

Updates:

A spokesperson from North American Midway Entertainment, the carnival company, confirmed that the contract states that the company is scheduled to be at the Central Wisconsin State Fair from the 22nd through 27th.

The contract never stated that the company would be at the fair on opening day. The final day, the 27th, will be for tear-down.

North American Midway Entertainment is an international company with Corporate Headquarters in Farmland, Indiana. They provide rides, games and food to fairs and festivals in about 140 communities in 20 states and four Canadian provinces.
