Auburndale boys basketball uses big second half to beat Spencer

SPENCER – Auburndale used a dominating second-half performance to pull past Spencer 75-38 in a nonconference boys basketball game Friday night at Spencer High School.

Auburndale led 28-16 at halftime before putting up 47 points in the second half to grab the win.

Auburndale is now 13-2, while Spencer falls to 6-9 after suffering its third-straight loss.

Cooper Weinfurter scored 16 points, Colton Wright added 13 and Carter Wilcott chipped in 10 for the Apaches.

Spencer shot just 26 percent, making 13 of 49 shots from the field. Trinity Larson had eight points to lead the Rockets.

Auburndale hosts Marathon and Spencer hosts Owen-Withee on Tuesday.
